Am I going to jinx the Sixers?

The Sixers are doing so well recently that want to comment on it, but I'm afraid that if I start posting regularly again I'll jinx them.

Because, of course, my blog holds ultimate sway over how they do...

Perhaps the key is for me to keep writing about how important it is for them to lose as much as possible. Maybe that's the key to what's happening.

It's no longer important to lose...they can't lose enough to matter...might as well enjoy the playoff ride.

Anyone think they have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs now? Does any team play harder?

Go Sixers.

I must admit that I do watch the crawl every night to see if they've won again. When the beat the Celtics a couple of days ago I chuckled to myself about the Philly dreamers, myself included, who are going to have our hopes dashed again. I agree "Go Sixers" but I'm already preparing my "It was a great year anyway" speech. Too many years of too many Philly teams giving hope and then ripping out sports-fan-heart.

I don't have much hope of making any noise in the playoffs. I thought the Sixers were a .500 team at the start of the season, and that's basically were it looks like they're going to end up. If we can somehow hang onto the sixth spot or even move up to the fifth spot, then I think we'd have at least a puncher's chance to get out of the first round. But if we're stuck playing the Pistons or Celtics in the first round, then I can't imagine our playoff stint will last much beyond five games.

I'll watch the games and root for the team but I'm not going to put any money down on getting out of the first round even if we are the fifth or sixth seed.
